John Peterson

John has over 20 years of experience within the commercial real estate industry and has specialized in the financing of commercial real estate investment properties over the past 15 years.  John is results-driven, and has completed over $350 million in commercial real estate financing.  However, focusing on the client’s needs before the dollar amount is paramount to John.

He received his  B.S. in Business Administration from Portland State University, with an emphasis in finance.  John holds an Oregon Real Estate Broker license and has completed myriad other commercial real estate courses – a short-list that includes:

  • Appraisal Institute;
  • American College of Commerce;
  • CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) Institute;
  • Real Estate School of Oregon.

John serves on the advisory board of the Oregon Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. is a current or past member of:

  • CAB (Greater Portland/Vancouver Commercial Association of Brokers)
  • OAR (Oregon Association of Realtors); • NAR (National Association of Realtors);
  • NAIOP (National Association of Industrial and Office Properties);

John lives in Happy Valley, Oregon with his wonderful wife Jennifer and two beautiful daughters, Addie and Emily.  John grew up in Pendleton, Oregon and enjoys the opportunity to regularly visit Eastern Oregon (& friends and family) each year at the world famous Pendleton Round-Up.  John’s past-times include skiing, traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Nik Merrick came to the world of commercial lending because of his desire to collaborate with successful individuals, utilizing an ethical compass, to find creative financial solutions where clients achieve long-term financial wellness. Nik’s core mission is to provide the utmost level of dedication and service to his clients and stakeholders and inspire them with the confidence to pursue and achieve their greatest ambitions.

With a passion for entrepreneurial endeavors, Nik founded Portland area restaurants that continue to thrive and has worked as a restaurant startup consultant and a general contractor for both commercial and residential projects. Because of this background, he has experienced the importance of access to capital in the process of maintaining assets and growing businesses.
A proud native Portlander, Nik was born and raised in SE Portland. He graduated from the University of Oregon with a BA in history. He then attended Pepperdine University, earning an MA in education with honors. In addition, he’s earned several post-graduate licenses and endorsements from Pepperdine University and Portland State University.

Nik lives in the Woodstock neighborhood in SE Portland. He has been married for 15 years to his wonderful wife Saangpon, and is father to their two-year old son Quintin. He loves to travel and experience different cultures. He’s also passionate about spending quality time with his family, hiking, reading, meditation and practicing jiu jitsu.

Jill Turek

Jill moved from her hometown in Northern California to Arizona where she earned her dual bachelor’s degrees in Business Economics and Spanish from Northern Arizona University.  She entered the finance world in 2003 when she joined JP Morgan Chase as Small Business and Relationship Banker.  When she outgrew Chase, she channeled her passion for travel by moving into corporate finance in the aviation field with Mesa Air Group. There, she advised C–suite level executives and strategies and tactics to remain profitable in a highly competitive market.

In 2009, Jill obtained her MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.  Upon graduation, Jill moved to Portland to deliver technology to dozens of finance leaders of companies ranging from small to multi billion dollar enterprises.

Jill is passionate about and thrives using finance and technology to empower people to drive them towards their goals.  She specializes in listening for what is most important for stakeholders and consistently delivering solutions aligned with people’s professional and personal objectives.

Jill first experienced her passion for travel and international affairs when she was in high school when she lived in Chile.  She has since traveled to over a dozen countries where she thrives on learning about the aspects of culture and its effects on the human condition.  When she is not working or traveling, she is shopping at the farmers’ market, cooking or sampling local culinary delights.  She also really enjoys driving fast!
